CGS Catechist Information

Who is a Catechist?

A Catechist is:

  • Someone willing to answer the call of God to spread the Good News to the smallest of the small; the children of our parish!
  • Someone who would like to spend time at the feet of Jesus, sharing Gods word with the children, and pondering together this wonderful calling we all share, that of being the children of God.
  • Someone who is open to deepening their own relationship with the Good Shepherd
  • Someone willing to learn more about the Kingdom of God and our rich Catholic Liturgy
  • Someone willing to take on a journey with the children for the course of one school year.
  • A catechist can be:
    • A mom, dad, grandma or grandpa
    • A woman or man that does not have children at this time
    • A young adult yearning to deepen their own walk with God
    • You!

If you have heard the calling of God to serve the children of the parish in this ministry, and would like to come in and meet with us to discuss if this is in fact a ministry for you, we would love to meet with you. Please call Eileen at 732-3131 ext 31 and we can set up a time that is good to meet and discern the possibility of working in the atrium as a catechist.
