Faith First Level II

Level Two Dates 2009-2010

Church Tours: During the month of November every Level 2 Class will have a Church Tour.  We will try to schedule the tours on the day that your child attends class but will not always be able to schedule it the same time as your child’s class.  Your child’s Catechist will inform you of the scheduled day and time.  Catechists will not get the date until their next Catechist meeting.

Level 2 Gatherings: Three Level 2 Parent and child gatherings are scheduled this year.  You and your child are expected to attend all 3 gatherings.  They will be held on Sunday at 10:00 AM and Tuesday at 4:30 PM.

Sunday, November 22nd OR Tuesday, November 24th.
Sunday, January 31st OR Tuesday, February, 2nd
Sunday, February 28th OR Tuesday, March 2nd.

Parent Meeting on Reconciliation:  All parents are expected to attend one of the two parent meetings on Reconciliation.  Father Chris will be speaking to the parents about the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Please read your pamphlet on Reconciliation before this meeting.  The meetings will be held in the Church Auditorium on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at either 9:30 AM or 7:30 PM.  You will get your child’s Eucharist book at this meeting.  You only need to attend one of the meetings.

First Reconciliation:  There are two dates for Reconciliation and two times on each day, either 11:00AM or 1:30PM.  Your child’s class will be assigned a specific day and time at a later date.  For now please put both dates on your calendar to save them.  Saturday, January 16, 2010 and Saturday, January 23, 2010.

Enrollment Mass:  On the weekend of March 13th and 14th, 2010 all Level 2 students will be introduced to the parish as those preparing for First Communion.  There will be a simple blessing prayer activity to take place between the child and his or her parents.  This will take place at all masses and you may choose to come to any of the masses on Saturday or Sunday.  The children will be receiving Good Shepherd Medals at these masses.

Parent Meeting on Eucharist:  All parents are expected to be at one of these meetings as well. Father Chris will speak about the Sacrament of Eucharist.  The meetings will take place on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at either 9:30 AM or 7:30 PM.  Kits to make the banners that are hung on your pew at the Communion Mass will be sold at this meeting.  You only need to attend one of the meetings.

Communion Music Rehearsal:  
Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 4:30 PM.

There is only one music rehearsal for all Level 2 students.  It will take place in the church. Every child needs to be accompanied by an adult.

First Communion:  The First Communions will start the weekend of April 17, 2010 and will continue each weekend until May 8, 2010.  The dates will be assigned by class and you will receive your child’s date in November.

Communion Party:  We will have one big party for all Communion children on Friday evening, May 21, 2010.  An invitation will be given at the Communion rehearsal, but put the date on your calendar.  Don’t miss this wonderful evening.  The children always have a great time.

It is expected that all Faith Formation students attend weekly Sunday Mass
