Dear Friends,

For over sixty years, St. Margaret of Scotland Church has been serving the Catholic community in Selden, and beyond. Though we are not the oldest parish in Suffolk, we are certainly one of the proudest. Who would have thought that this great parish family would evolve from such humble beginnings? Many of our oldest parishioners remember meeting in the back of Aggie’s Tavern -- the parish’s original “downtown” office! -- and dreaming dreams which have become a reality. From the very beginning, our parish family has been marked by the gifts of commitment and generosity. We have overcome many obstacles by striving to love and support one another, and met each challenge with faith in the Lord Jesus, who has nurtured our parish’s growth.

I give thanks to our God for gracing us with Margaret of Scotland, our patron saint, who intercedes for us.It is fitting for our parish that our patron saint is one who was dedicated completely to her family, thrived at showing a mothers love, and at the same time found energy and purpose in serving those in need.In many ways this is the life's breath of our own parish family as we try to live the gospel of Jesus in our own day and age.

Today, I  welcome you to our parish website to join us in praying together, growing in our faith, and in serving others. This is an exciting time for your family to see the many opportunities to grow as God’s family and witness to God’s love.
