The Theme for the 2010- 2011 Youth Ministry Year is Rooted.

Rooted

The Scripture that will guide all the planning for the Faith 4 Life  program is:Colossians 2:6-7  “As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.”

We are constantly asking teens to be radical .  When used as a noun, the word radical can be defined as, “a person who holds or follows strong convictions or extreme principles.”   In today’s culture truly believing and living the truth of the Church makes someone a radical.  But what we are really asking teens this year is to become rooted in Jesus Christ. To be truly radical is to be deeply rooted in the love and person of Jesus, imitating him in all circumstances of our lives.  The primary movement of the saints was not an external action or ministry.  It was a profound movement to root every part of their lives in Jesus Christ. We too are being asked to Root every part of our lives. We cannot expect teens to make radical decisions for Jesus if their lives are not firmly rooted in Him.

We don’t get credit for starting the race. You get credit for ending it well and the only way you’re going to finish well is if you build Roots!

So through this Ministry and the different events associated with it we are going to invite and challenge teens to be radical, that is, become rooted in Christ.

Continue to check the website all year to find out about the different events to participate in to begin building Roots!

See you all at Faith 4 Life on Wednesday Night,

Rooted in Him, through Him, and with Him,
